When Elizabeth Banks set out to write and direct a new version of “Charlie’s Angels,” it meant something to her. Growing up watching the ’70s TV show with her two sisters, Banks says she was inspired by seeing “fabulous, butt-kicking women working together.” In updating the franchise for a 2019 audience, she wanted to make sure she stayed true to that sense of sisterhood.
